Wholesale dropshippers are companies or businesses that receive orders for products and then ship these products out. The technique of drop shipping is where a retailer doesn’t have all goods in stock. What happens instead is that the customer places an order with a business and then this business or retailer sends the order to a wholesaler. This wholesaler gets the customer information and where the goods need to be shipped to and then directly sends the goods out to the customer.

Retailers use this method to make a profit, because of the large difference between the retail price the customer pays for an item and the wholesale price the retailer pays for the same item. There are many lists online of these wholesalers that drop ship items. There are also catalogs for businesses to order merchandise from and then have it drop shipped to the customer.

This method of keeping track of merchandise allows retailers to have more room for items, since they don’t have to store all the items they sell.

By having a huge wholesaler that is willing to drop ship items, this allows for more items to be offered through the retailer. There only needs to be a few items on hand, for displays and such, then the rest can be sent to a customer that orders them. When retailers use a catalog to sell items, they are basically producing the catalog with examples of all that they offer and handling the order taking. They then need to collect the money and contact the wholesaler in order to have the products drop shipped.

This same method is used for sites online too, since it’s sort of like a digital catalog. Some retailers try to hide the fact that they work with wholesale dropshippers, for fear of their great wholesale source being found out. They may also prefer to remain more like a mom and pop sort of business. One way around this is to put a return address label that shows the retailer’s address as the location for products to be returned to. The other option is for the return address area to be left blank, either way the retailer’s secret is safe.
