eBay Titanium Powerseller Reveals His Wholesale Dropshippers
Hey Martin here,
let me start things off by telling you after years of working at a job I didn’t like, I finally found the courage to work for myself. I started my own home based business selling products on ebay and my own e-commerce sites…
For me, the two key elements I’d put my success down to were finding the right products and reliable wholesale dropshippers. Once I found both of these it didn’t take long before I became an eBay Titanium Powerseller!
I started in early 2005, within a matter of weeks I was making a considerable amount of money dropshipping. It wasn’t all plain sailing at first though, there was some trial and error in picking the right niche items to sell on ebay. For those of you who don’t know what niche items are, let me explain. Niche items are items that are basically somewhat of a speciality item, they cater not to a broad but a very specific group of people.
Ideally the niche product you will want to be selling is in demand with a little competition, but not too much so that it’s impossible to compete.
When I started looking for suppliers I was a bit overwhelmed with the amount of dropshippers out there, I decided to see what other people had to say about them and if they were making any money with these dropshippers. After literally hours and hours of research online, I found out a lot of the dropshipping companies out there were scams! I found out the hard way by getting stung after joining one, i’m not gonna mention this dropshippers name although I probably should! They offered pre-made websites loaded with all their products, they charged $29.99 a month for there service.
Their websites were nice, but their so called wholesale merchandise was way overpriced to say the least! I didn’t find out until after I had already signed up that they charged around $15 – $25 bucks just for shipping on items that were like $5, I couldn’t believe it! The product prices were somewhat reasonable, but when your potential customers see how much it’s gonna cost to ship their merchandise they soon go elsewhere.
I tried them out on ebay, and after a couple of weeks, guess what? No sales, I was down $60 bucks and my precious time! So I cut my losses and cancelled my membership with this useless dropshipper. I was back to the drawing board, I didn’t give up though, I was determined to find a reputable dropshipper! After all, I knew there were a lot of people out there making money selling wholesale merchandise on ebay and other sites, but who were their dropshipping sources? I was gonna find it if it literally killed me! After more long hours on the computer looking through many dropshipping company reviews I found two that stood out…
Salehoo, and worldwide brands. They both had a lot of positive reviews out there – so I looked further into them. Worldwide brands wanted $300 dollars for their one time membership, I was on a budget and times were hard so there was no way I was paying that much for a dropshipping membership. I then looked into Salehoo, read some more reviews and I liked what I saw. At $67.00 for a full membership it was also a lot less than the $300 worldwide brands were charging…
So, I decided to buy a salehoo membership, I remember thinking that day “I hope this works!” I paid my $67 membership fee, got my login information and logged into salehoo’s members area. Everything was laid out in easy to navigate categories. I had already decided that I wanted to give selling ipod’s a try, it wasn’t long before I found a supplier with a good track record and competitive prices, the rest as they say was history!
Fast forward to today and I’m now a titanium powerseller and proud owner of my own e-commerce website!
When I think back to 2005, I’m just glad I didn’t give up when finding a reliable supplier looked impossible, through perseverance I eventually found a great wholesale dropshipper and now business could not be better!
I hope this post has inspired you to start your own e-commerce dropshipping business…
To your dropshipping success,
